Ingredients

2 cups rolled oats

2 large apples, peeled and diced (recommended: Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for a balance of tart and sweet)

1 cup almond milk (substitute with any milk of your choice)

1/2 cup maple syrup (or honey for a different sweetness)

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional for added crunch)

1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional for a fruity bite)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly greasing a 9x9-inch baking dish with a touch of oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed throughout the oats.

In another bowl, whisk together the almond milk, maple syrup, applesauce, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry oat mixture and stir gently but thoroughly to combine, ensuring all the oats are coated.

Carefully fold in the diced apples and, if desired, the chopped walnuts and raisins or cranberries until everything is evenly mixed.

Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly with a spatula to create a flat surface.

Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the oats have set nicely.

Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes to make slicing easier. Cut into squares for serving.

Serve the oat bake warm, optionally drizzled with extra maple syrup or topped with a dollop of yogurt for a creamy addition.

                    Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 8

Presentation Tips: For an appealing presentation, serve each square on a plate with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top and a side of fresh fruit for added color and freshness.
