Ingredients

1 bag of tortilla chips (approximately 12 oz)

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained

1 cup fresh or canned spicy chili

1 jalapeño, sliced (adjust for heat preference)

1 medium tomato, diced

1/2 small red onion, finely chopped

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 avocado, diced

1/2 cup sour cream

1 lime, cut into wedges

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños for extra heat

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to make cleanup a breeze.

Prepare the Chips: Spread the tortilla chips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure the chips are laid out without overlapping too much for even baking.

Mix the Cheeses: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese thoroughly. Set this cheese mixture aside for layering later.

Assemble the Nachos: Begin layering the nachos by placing half of the tortilla chips as your base. Sprinkle half of the cheese mixture over these chips. Evenly distribute the rinsed black beans, spicy chili, jalapeño slices, diced tomato, and chopped red onion across the layer. Top this with the remaining tortilla chips and finish by sprinkling the rest of the cheese mixture on top.

Bake to Perfection: Place the loaded nachos in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Bake until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.

Add Fresh Toppings: Once out of the oven, allow the nachos to cool for a couple of minutes. Carefully add the diced avocado and sprinkle freshly chopped cilantro over the top. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with Style: Generously dollop sour cream on top of the nachos and arrange lime wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick. If you want to bring up the heat, scatter pickled jalapeños over the dish!

Enjoy Immediately: Serve your Fiery Fiesta Chili Nachos warm and enjoy the explosion of flavors while they're hot!
