Ingredients

2 cups elbow macaroni

4 cups vegetable or chicken broth

1 cup milk

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon mustard powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or 1/2 cup chopped broccoli or peas for added nutrition

Instructions

In a large pot, add the elbow macaroni and pour in the broth. Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.

Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium. Allow the pasta to simmer, stirring frequently, for about 8-10 minutes or until the macaroni is cooked al dente and most of the broth has been absorbed.

Lower the heat further and stir in the milk, butter, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly to ensure everything is evenly combined.

Gradually incorporate the shredded cheddar, mozzarella, and grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until all the cheese is fully melted and the sauce reaches a creamy consistency. If using, gently fold in the crumbled bacon or your choice of vegetables for an extra touch of flavor and nutrition.

Taste your mac and cheese and adjust the seasoning as desired. If you find the mac and cheese too thick, feel free to add a splash more milk or broth to achieve your preferred creaminess.

Serve immediately in lunch containers or bowls while warm, and enjoy this comforting, cheesy delight!
