Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

2 teaspoons minced garlic

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

2 cups broccoli florets, washed and trimmed

1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 cup snap peas, trimmed

1 medium carrot, julienned

3 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, mix together the sliced beef, low-sodium soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Use your hands or a spoon to ensure that the beef is evenly coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prepare the vegetables.

Prepare the Vegetables: Rinse and chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets, thinly slice the red bell pepper, trim the snap peas, and julienne the carrot. Keep the vegetables separate as they will be added to the pan at different times.

Heat the Pan: In a large non-stick skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Let the beef sear for about 2–3 minutes without stirring, allowing it to form a delicious brown crust.

Cook the Beef: After the beef has seared, stir-fry it for an additional 2 minutes or until it is browned and cooked through. Once ready, remove the beef from the pan and transfer it to a plate. Cover to keep warm.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir vigorously for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant but not browned.

Add Vegetables: Introduce the broccoli, bell pepper, snap peas, and carrot to the pan. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 4–5 minutes or until they are tender-crisp and vibrant in color.

Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Gently toss everything together for an additional 2 minutes to reheat the beef and allow the flavors to meld. Taste and adjust the seasoning with extra soy sauce if desired.

Serve: Remove the pan from heat. Serve the flavorful stir-fry over a bed of warm cooked rice or noodles.

Garnish: Finish by garnishing each serving with a sprinkle of chopped green onions and sesame seeds for added crunch and visual appeal.

Enjoy: Serve immediately for a delicious and colorful one-pan meal that is sure to satisfy!
