Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef (80% lean)

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped onions

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

1 head of butter lettuce (or any preferred lettuce like romaine)

1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/4 cup dill pickles, diced

1/4 cup ketchup

1/4 cup mustard

Fresh parsley or dill (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Lettuce: Start by gently separating the leaves from the butter lettuce, ensuring they stay whole. Rinse them under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Set the leaves aside on a clean surface.

Make the Beef Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onions, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands or a spatula to mix until all ingredients are uniformly blended.

Shape the Patties: Take small portions of the beef mixture (approximately 1 tablespoon each) and roll them into mini patties about 1 inch in diameter. You should be able to make around 20 patties.

Cook the Patties: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, arrange the mini patties in the skillet in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd them. Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until the patties are nicely browned and fully cooked. For well-done patties, extend the cooking time slightly.

Assemble the Wraps: Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and place one on each butter lettuce leaf. Add a generous dollop of ketchup and mustard on top, followed by a few halved cherry tomatoes and diced pickles.

Garnish: For an extra touch, sprinkle fresh parsley or dill over the assembled bites to add color and enhance the flavor profile.

Serve: Organize the completed lettuce wrap bites on a serving platter. Enjoy them fresh, or offer them as a delicious appetizer at your next social gathering for a tasty, low-carb treat!
