Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup diced green chilies (canned or fresh)

1/4 cup finely chopped yellow onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs

1 large egg, lightly beaten

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (optional but recommended)

Slider buns

1 ripe avocado, sliced (for topping)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Sriracha sauce or your favorite hot sauce (optional for extra heat)

Instructions

Preheat the Grill or Pan: Begin by preheating your grill or a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, ensuring it’s hot enough for a nice sear.

Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the ground turkey, diced green chilies, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. If using, incorporate the shredded Monterey Jack cheese. Use your hands or a spatula to gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the sliders tender.

Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into equal portions to create 4 to 6 patties, depending on your desired slider size. Gently shape each portion into a round, flat patty, pressing lightly to ensure they cook evenly.

Cook the Sliders: Place the formed patties on the preheated grill or pan. Cook each side for approximately 5-6 minutes, or until they achieve a golden brown color and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Toast the Buns: During the final few minutes of cooking the sliders, add the slider buns to the grill or a separate pan. Toast them lightly until golden and warm.

Assemble the Sliders: Once the patties are fully cooked and the buns are toasted, it's time to assemble your sliders. Place a turkey patty on each slider bun, add a few slices of fresh avocado, and drizzle with Sriracha or your choice of hot sauce for an extra kick. Top it off with a sprinkle of freshly chopped cilantro for a burst of flavor.

Serve & Enjoy: Serve the sliders warm with your favorite sides, such as crispy sweet potato fries, a fresh garden salad, or crunchy coleslaw.
