Frozen Greek Yogurt Mocha Swirl Bars

For the Base:

2 cups plain Greek yogurt

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust sweetness to your preference)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

A pinch of salt

For the Mocha Swirl:

1/2 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee (cooled to room temperature)

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

1 tablespoon chocolate chips (optional, for added texture)

For Topping (optional):

Shaved dark chocolate or chocolate sprinkles

Chopped nuts (such as walnuts or almonds)

A sprinkle of instant coffee granules

Prepare the Base Mixture:

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Use a whisk or spatula to mix until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness if needed.

      Make the Mocha Swirl:

        In a separate bowl, stir together the cooled brewed espresso (or coffee), cocoa powder, and honey (or maple syrup) until well combined. For a bit of extra texture in your bars, fold in the chocolate chips.

          Layer the Mixtures:

            Line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper, ensuring there’s an overhang on the sides for easy removal later. Pour half of the prepared yogurt mixture into the pan, smoothing it into an even layer.

              Add the Mocha and Swirl:

                Spoon the mocha mixture over the yogurt layer. Using a knife or toothpick, gently swirl the mocha into the yogurt to create a beautiful marbled effect. Carefully pour the remaining yogurt mixture on top, smoothing it out again.

                  Freeze:

                    Cover the pan with plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Place it in the freezer and allow it to freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until completely solid.

                      Serve:

                        Once frozen, lift the solidified yogurt slab out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Place it on a cutting board and cut into even squares or bars, as desired.

                          Garnish (optional):

                            Before serving, elevate the bars by sprinkling shaved dark chocolate, chopped nuts, or instant coffee granules on top for an added touch of indulgence.
