Ingredients

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

8 strips of bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened to room temperature

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 package of mini phyllo pastry cups (approximately 15-20 cups)

Optional: extra crumbled bacon bits and chopped chives for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to facilitate easy cleanup.

Prepare the filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, crumbled crispy bacon, finely chopped green onions, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix all the ingredients well until the mixture is creamy and thoroughly combined.

Arrange pastry cups: Place the mini phyllo pastry cups on the lined baking sheet, ensuring they are evenly spaced.

Fill the cups: Using a small spoon, carefully fill each pastry cup with the bacon-cheddar mixture, pressing down gently to compact the filling slightly.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry cups turn a lovely golden brown and become crispy, while the cheese inside is bubbly.

Cool briefly: Once baked, remove the bites from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes to set slightly.

Garnish: If desired, sprinkle additional crumbled bacon bits and chopped chives over the top of each bite for an extra burst of flavor and visual appeal.

Serve: Enjoy these delightful crispy bites warm as a delicious appetizer or festive party snack!
