2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

4 cups fresh broccoli florets

1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)

1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup breadcrumbs (optional)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to preheat. This ensures it’s ready for baking once your casserole is prepared.

    Prepare the broccoli: In a steamer or a pot with minimal water, steam the broccoli florets for about 5 minutes. They should be bright green and slightly tender but still crisp. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.

      Mix the casserole base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cooked chicken, cooked rice, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the mixture is creamy.

        Incorporate the broccoli: Carefully fold the steamed broccoli florets into the mixture, making sure they are evenly distributed without breaking them apart too much.

          Add cheese: Mix in 1/2 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese. This will add a delicious gooey texture to your casserole.
