Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup canned chili (choose between beanless or with beans based on preference)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for added heat)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg (for egg wash)

Fresh chopped cilantro or green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the ideal baking temperature.

Prepare Crescent Dough: On a clean, flat surface, gently unroll the crescent roll dough. Carefully separate it into individual triangular pieces following the guidelines on the package.

Mix Filling: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and canned chili. Then, add the garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if you desire an extra kick), and salt. Stir the mixture thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly blended and well combined.

Assemble Rolls: Take each crescent triangle and place approximately 1-2 tablespoons of the chili and cheese filling near the wide end. Starting at this wide end, carefully roll the triangle toward the pointed tip, making sure to tuck the filling securely inside. Pinch the ends of the dough to seal them properly.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk the egg until well beaten. Use a pastry brush to lightly coat the top of each rolled pastry with the egg wash to achieve a beautiful golden finish after baking.

Bake: Arrange the prepared rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them out evenly. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and flaky.

Cool & Serve: Once they’re done baking, carefully remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool for about one minute. For a fresh and vibrant touch, garnish with your choice of freshly chopped cilantro or green onions before serving.

Enjoy! Serve these warm, enjoying them as a delightful snack or appetizer!
